The Company
Rocky Mountain Field Institute is an environmental nonprofit that works with land management agencies and 1,000+ volunteers annually to preserve and restore parks, forests, open spaces, and other public lands through volunteer stewardship, environmental education, and restoration research programs.
The Challenge
RMFI needed a website that organized content for a variety of constituents including volunteers, individual donors, and funders. The client also wanted a more visual website to showcase its trail and restoration work to website visitors. Lastly, the client needed website communication tools such as online email signup, event registration, online donations, a blog and an event calendar.
The Solution
Sandstone Media built the site in Drupal and integrated the site into CiviCRM, a constituent relationship management component that serves as the single database for all volunteer and donor information. Full CMS and CRM integration allowed communication tools such as email, donations, and events to seamlessly connect with RMFI's data administration. This eliminated the need for double entry of data and ensured more accuracy of information on the website and the database.
The Result
The website is easy to maintain and content is updated automatically as RMFI's database is updated. Additionally, the design allows for fast photo and text changes to keep up with RMFI's projects. The design allows photos and text to tell the RMFI story to funders and volunteers.
